Sylloge Diplomatico-Palaeographica I
Studien zur byzantinischen Diplomatik und Paläographie

Die Reihe Sylloge diplomatico-palaeographica (innerhalb der Veröffentlichungen zur Byzanzforschung) wurde aus den Arbeiten zum Forschungsschwerpunkt „Byzantinische Diplomatik und Paläographie“ am Institut für Byzanzforschung der ÖAW begründet, um Beobachtungen und Forschungen zum byzantinischen Urkundenwesen zu zentralisieren, ganz bewusst mit dem Zusatz palaeographica, da jede Urkundenforschung die obligate Frage nach den Quellen und damit nach der Paläographie (und der Kodikologie) des Überlieferungsträgers stellen muss.
Inhaltlich umfasst der Band einerseits Studien zu dem thematischen Schwerpunkt Patriarchat von Konstantinopel und Urkunden im Zusammenhang mit der Patriarchatskanzlei (in diesem Fall das 12. Jh. mit Ioannes X. Kamateros, das 13. Jh. mit Manuel I. Sarantenos und das 14. Jahrhun-dert mit Glaubensbekenntnissen aus dem Patriarchatsregister von Konstantinopel). Andererseits widmet sich dem leidigen Problem der Sammelüberlieferung und der damit einhergehenden Editi-onsproblematik eine Basisstudie zum Chartular B des Ioannes Prodromos-Klosters von Serrhai. Abrundend wird der Forschungsschwerpunkt Epigrammatik mit der Analyse urkundenspezifischer Gedichte aufgearbeitet.
Zwei Beiträge entstanden im Rahmen von Projekten des FWF (Projekt-Nr. P19818-G02, P 19135-G02).
The series Sylloge diplomatico-palaeographica (as subseries of the “Veröffentlichungen zur By-zanzforschung”) was founded as a result of the scientific focus on Byzantine diplomatics and pa-leography at the Institute of Byzantine Studies of the AAS. It is intended to centralize studies and research on Byzantine documents; hence palaeographica is added intentionally, because every research on documents has to investigate the primary sources, therewith the paleography (and codicology) of the text transmitters.
The volume contains research of the thematic focus on the Patriarchate of Constantinople and documents in connection with the chancellery of the Patriarch (in this case the 12th century with Ioannes Xth Kamateros, the 13th century with Manuel Ist Sarantenos and the 14th century with pro-fessions of faith of the Registrum Patriarchatus Constantinopolitani) as well as a basic study on the cartulary B of the John Prodrom monastery at Serrhai illustrating problems of modern text editions. The first issue of the sylloge is completed by an analysis of epigrams (a further scientific main fo-cus of the institute) which are related to documents.
