Deutsche Presse / Band 3: Die Region Braunschweig/Wolfenbüttel, Hildesheim – Goslar
Die Region Braunschweig /Wolfenbüttel, Hildesheim, Goslar
Peter Albrecht, Britta Berg, Holger Böning
This volume contains the first bibliography on the print periodicals of a region which in many areas exhibited characteristics that shaped the print media in the German-speaking world as a whole. The region studied includes the old Principality of Brunswick-Wolfenbüttel, the Principality of Blankenburg, the Prince-Bishopric of Hildesheim and the Free Imperial City of Goslar, thus also including subjects such as friction between religious denominations with two daily newspapers and two federal gazettes in Hildesheim, the»Aviso» 1609 in Wolfenbüttel as the second oldest German-language newspaper or the philanthropical »Braunschweigische Journal,» whose goal was so obviously to change society that Prussian intervention compelled it to relocate to Altona.
