Neben diesen Dokumenten werden im vorliegenden Buch erstmalig die vollständigen Sterbelisten aus dem Arbeitserziehungslager Zöschen vom Juli 1944 bis zum April 1945 veröffentlicht.

Vor 100 Jahren wurde der „Bund der Freunde der Technischen Hochschule München e. V.“ in der Inflationszeit ins Leben gerufen, als der Staat unzureichende Mittel für die Hochschulen hatte. Der Rektor der Technischen Hochschule München, Prof. Dr. Walther von Dyck, initiierte zusammen mit 70 Persönlichkeiten aus Hochschulwesen, Industrie, Gewerbe und Landwirtschaft einen Förderverein, der am 7. Dezember 1922 gegründet wurde. Ziel war es, das „Gefühl der Zusammengehörigkeit aller ihrer ehemaligen Angehörigen, ihrer Freunde, Gönner und Förderer“ zu stärken.
Namhafte Unternehmen und Institutionen, aber auch viele engagierte Einzelmitglieder haben den „Bund der Freunde“ 100 Jahre lang getragen. Von 1948 bis 2022 hat er Vorhaben der TUM mit mehr als 8 Millionen Euro gefördert.
Die bebilderte Broschüre gibt einen Überblick über die Geschichte des traditionsreichen Fördervereins und zeigt auf, wie er künftig unter dem neuen Namen „Freunde der TUM e. V.“ (TUM Association of Alumni and Friends) verstärkt studentische Initiativen und Projekte unterstützen wird.

Today, some 10 years after the events, the results are sobering. As Martin Pabst shows in his balanced account, jihadism, civil wars and terror were able to spread in the wake of the "Arab Spring" . The book provides a well-founded overview of developments in the "Arab world" as a major region, stretching from the Maghreb to the Near East and Middle East. A historical and geographic introduction is followed by insights into the region=s various cultures, ethnic groups and languages. The various economic forms, population developments and supply situations are analysed. The intensifying Saudi-Iranian conflict is also placed in this context, and the question is raised of whether the conflict is primarily a religious war or a power struggle.
